The Ford Focus has always been a sweet little car but its been updated and improved for 2012 which makes it even better than ever before. Engineers have tightened up the suspension system, redesigned the chassis and added in an advanced cornering assist system which significantly improves overall handling and performance. New features also include the addition of Myford and MyKey.

MyFord allows drivers to control the navigation system, phone and music functions by voice commands and touch. MyKey is a great tool for parents; it allows you to control the speed limit and audio volume while your teens are behind the wheel. It doesnt stop there; the all new Focus also includes torque vectoring control; a feature which adds stability during sharp turns. Mileage stands at 28 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the freeway. If you want even better economy the SFE package is available which boosts fuel economy up to 28 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway.

Options which can be added include Parking Technology which comes with a rear view camera, Active Park Assist and parking sensors. This advanced system can actually parallel park for you; a very handy feature for individuals (like myself!) who have a lot of trouble parking into tight spots. HD radio is also available which provides for exceptionally clear and vibrant sound so you can jam to all your favorite tunes as you cruise down the street.

The engine has been designed to be productive and provide a zestful drive while still preserving fuel economy with excellent mileage. It is a 2.0 Liter V4 with 140 hp and 146 lb feet of torque equipped with direct injection for optimum efficiency. The Eco version will be achieve up to 40 mpg on the freeway. Handling is superb due to a rear stabilizer bar. If you want an even tighter suspension and slicker wheels there is always the Titanium Handling Package.

Safety features include a comprehensive air bag system which deploys in stages. The optional rear view camera also makes it easier to back up. The Electronic Stability Control and anti-lock brakes adjusts the brakes during critical moments in order to maintain stability. Rain sensing wipers are also standard; these wipers start working immediately once they sense precipitation.

You would expect an affordable car to perhaps skimp out on the interior but thats not the case with the Focus. The interior is extremely quiet even at high speeds thanks to the acoustically laminated windshield. Opt for the premium package and youll get plush seats appointed in leather. Sweet options include a dual zone temperature control system and front seats which are adjustable with five different settings.

Pricing for the base model starts at $18,790; a relatively affordable price for a dynamic car that is fun to drive. Not to mention the fact that the 2012 Focus is better than ever thanks to its updated chassis, tighter and sportier suspension and excellent mileage (up to 40 mpg with the SFE package). The 2012 Ford Focus will be available for purchase in the spring of 2011.
